Do you want to write history on Ølbergstrand? This is definitely one of the hottest events of the year in Sola Municipality in 2025!
In December 2024, a Norwegian record was set in winter bathing at Ølbergstrand in Sola. Around 2500 happy bathers from the region participated in the event and joined the biggest bath of the time in Sola municipality.
Breakfast was offered, hot drinks were served and several saunas were available for the most eager.
On December 13, 2025, an attempt is to be made to set the Guinness World Record in winter bathing in the same place. A new record wil require at least 3,500 bathers.
This is a unique opportunity to join in to a world record attempt. Bring friends and family, a little courage, a little cold tolerance and good warm clothes and join us in creating bathing history at Ølberg beach!
The event is free and open to all. All bathers must register to participate int the event.

In 2024, it was on December 14th, around 6 degrees celcius in the water and around 5 degrees celcius in the air.
It can be beneficial to begin year-round bathing training already in the fall. Sola has many bathing areas for year-round bathing and several groups where several bathers gather and swim together. The Solastranden bathing association is one of the groups.
